除夕夜，张招娣带女儿逃家暴回娘家，却被奶奶带人打成重伤、抢走女儿。张家人屋内团圆，她躺雪地奄奄一息，誓来生不再任人宰割。新年钟声起，张招娣离世，再次睁眼竟回到五年前。。The story is set in the 1930s, somewhere in the mountains in Romania. It centres on Simion, a ranger who lives like a hermit in the middle of the forest. One day, he stumbles upon a beaten-up woman, Irina, and tries to find out who has hurt her.
