However, her life takes a dangerous detour when Rucker recruits her to complete his masterpiece: A connect-the-dots roadmap portrait of his ex-wife compris...。何江生為法官韋文福與杜國材妻子梁凱明有染所生之子。韋文福唯恐其名譽受損，在何江生剛出生時欲將其掩埋地下，被何永健發現並將江生救出，由其大嫂蘇氏撫養成人。蘇氏對江生一味嬌縱溺愛，由他任性妄爲也不加管教，導致入獄。船員陳廣勝曾被林志楠、杜國材和韋文福三人陷害入冤獄十多年，偶然得人幫助逃出監獄並承受萬貫財富，欲展開報復。他從何永健處得知何江生身世，遂將江生從獄中買出，易名譚雲行，並設計他進入上流社會。雲行見環球銀行行長杜國材富貴，欲與其女兒杜婉琴結親，杜國材深信雲行是南洋橡膠巨商之子，欣然同意。此時雲行在獄中的難友洛興前來敲詐，勒索雲行幾次仍不肯罷手，雲行憤而將其殺死。雲行與婉琴訂婚之日，憲兵來到要拘捕雲行，杜國材因此身敗名裂，一蹶不振。雲行逃脫，但幾經周折終在客棧被捕。何永健探監，將江生身世說出。法庭上，江生當衆道出身世，韋文福痛苦崩潰。牢中獄卒見梁凱明...。
