黄秋霞（杨贵媚 饰）与富家子弟林国荣（李小飞 饰）真心相爱，并已珠胎暗结，但在谈婚论嫁时两人被林母以黄秋霞身家不清白为由强行拆散，林国荣另娶了门当户对女子为妻，黄秋霞则投靠乡下姨母生下志强（谢小鱼、孙亚东 饰）独立抚养。 几年后，林国荣之妻被证实不能生育，林家父母为了延续香火，办法施尽令志强离开黄秋霞回到了林家认祖归宗，然而年幼的志强却无法接受没有母亲的生活，屡次试图重回母亲身边，却在某次尝试中遭遇大雨导致生命垂危，黄秋霞因为此事激动，失足跌下楼梯成为疯妇。。同为职业“清理工”的两人意外撞单，接到了同一个任务——掩盖一起犯罪现场。迫于局势，互相看不顺眼的两位“孤狼”被迫联手，摆脱一连串的致命麻烦。然而，他们发现整件事正逐渐失控……。A brother and sister move into an old seaside house they find abandoned for many years on the English coast.
