《税务所的故事》以北京某地一个城乡结合部一个小税务所为背景，通过以老陈为首的五名税务干部的日常工作和生活，展现当代生活的多彩画面，折射出税务干部和各色各样的纳税人的人生百态、苦乐悲欢。剧中的五位男女主人公性格各异。年龄、背景也有很大差别，他们各有各的生活观念，各有各的兴趣爱好，各有各的问题、烦恼、弱点甚至缺点。通过五位主人公之间、五位主人公和形形色色的纳税人之间不断发生的碰撞，在基层税务所这个小天地里，上演了一幕幕既令人捧腹又耐人寻味的人间喜剧。。Paul Slippery (Hugh Laurie), a forty-something doctor, lives with his wife Estelle and three sex-obsessed sons Rory, Daniel and Edwin in the west London suburb of Putney. On top of coping with family pressures and a mid-life crisis, Paul discovers his unusual ability to hear other peoples' inner thoughts.。"Alone" follows a writer seeking peace and solitude in the countryside in an attempt to recover from tragedy and finish her book. However, as the welcoming country house turns into a living hell, she soon realizes that her inner demons are not the worst of her problems.。
